Organic Shea Butter
Organic Shea Butter: is our favorite skin loving "superfood" that contains Vitamins A, E, and F. The Linolenic acid in Shea Butter strengthens the skins barrier to toxins and impurities and is a premium natural moisturizer. Shea butter contains high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins that make it an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening all types as well as helping with stretch marks.
Coconut Oil: hydrates your skin for up to 24 hours and helps improve your skins elasticity and collagen production. It's known for its outstanding anti-aging properties and has anti-oxidants such as Vitamin E and Vitamin A. These vitamins help slow down the aging process and may help to reduce the damage from free radicals and the sun.
Olive Oil: is one of the most nourishing oils in the world. Olive oil is high in anti-aging omega-3, Vitamin K and Polyphenol. It also contains antioxidants that fight free-radical damage and an ingredient called Squalene. This ingredient is not only hydrates, but it also helps to plump, soften and hydrate the skin. Olive oil has a naturally lower oxidation rate than your skin’s natural oils, which makes it a perfect barrier to protect skin from irritants.
Soybean Oil: has a nourishing, softening and moisturizing effect on skin, hair and nails. It replenishes skin lipids and restores suppleness and flexibility. As a skin care ingredient, soy is purported to diminish wrinkles, reverse sun damage and even tighten sagging skin.
Corn Oil: improves skin functioning and known for its light texture and high quantity of linoleic acid. Corn oil is great for keeping the skin moisturized and smooth. This Vitamin E-rich oil is readily absorbed and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and bright.
Hemp Oil: contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory, while simultaneously encouraging skin growth and new cell generation. Hemp Oil also moisturizes without clogging your pores and is excellent oil for all skin types, because it balances out oily skin, hydrating it and regulating the skin’s oil production.
Lye: is an essential ingredient for the Saponification process of Soap Making. Lye and oil molecules (Shea Butter, Olive Oil, etc.) combine and chemically change into soap and glycerin, which is called Saponification. Once the Saponification process takes place, there is no lye left in the final bar of soap.
Distilled Water: is used to dilute lye crystals, and acts as a carrier for the lye. When the oils are combined with lye the reaction produces soap, water and glycerin. Eventually the excess water is evaporated during the curing phase (This is when the soap is left to dry out). The type of water used is very important. Tap water should not be used. Tap water contains minerals and impurities such as calcium, magnesium as well as organic material. Distilled water or pure water is essential to make high quality soap.
